The stores I have worked in have been described by others as almost 'a personal shopping experience'. this is because the sales assistants did not have one particulare role in the store.
we would greet the customers, help them with selecting clothing, take your selection to the fitting room, find additional garments if needed, close the sale. We were also expected to keep the shop tidy, help with stock processing, and partake in window dressing and any in-store displays.
